Techy query

Morning
I have a V HD box (recently activated) connected to my TV via HDMI. I also have a PVR but it doesnt have a HDMI socket. If It is also attached to the TV via scart will it still record? I know that it will not record HD channels
regards John

Re: Scart & HDMI on V HD box

Yes, both outputs are active. You will be able to record HD channels too - the box downscales them to SD on the SCART.

Re: Scart & HDMI on V HD box

It wouldn't work. Your PVR see's an aerial as a signal so it can change channels etc. when it needs to record a certain channel.

If your PVR even accepts anything via SCART in then it would see it as a video signal, like if you were playing back a camcorder or a VHS, so while it may be able to record that picture it would not be able to change channel so you would have to manually change channel for everything you wanted to record.

Worth a go anyways.

Maybe you've selected a video format the TV doesn't support, you have selected the wrong input on the TV, or you need to enable the HDMI port in the TV menus. What model TV is it?

Do you have the exact model number? I want to look for the manual.

Re: Scart & HDMI on V HD box

I've found the manual, but can't see any obvious pitfalls. Try using the other HDMI socket on the TV. Also reverse the HDMI lead - or better still try a different one.
