virgin bill so high???

hello people could anyone help me
i got virgin broadband, phone and tv istalled on dec 05 2010 for 23.00 amonth (plus extra blockin 4 mobile phones which makes it to 26.94) a month for the first six month and 35 ther after. when we was gettin it installed we was to pay 30 installion fee plus 30 but they sed we would get that back anyway in bills. i phoned virgin and asked them when i would be payin my first bill n they said the begingin of january but that would only be 13.90 because i paid 30 upfront... so that went out by direct debit and then when it got to febuary i phoned again to see when my payment of 26.94 they sed my account was up to date n wasnt ready to be paid yet and it also said this on my virginmedia account that everythin was up to date a couple of days later i recieve a letter sayin my bille over 26.94 hasnt been made n therfore ive got 10so i called n expplained n all of a sudden i owe 85pound! from dec n january i just dont get it how do i complain and what should i do about it i can't afford to pay the bill i understand they didnt recieve my payment or 26.94 but thats due to the fact ther tellin me completey diffrent dates its coming out. does this sounds wrong? virgin seems to me like its one big scam! the last time i was with virgin they told me my account blance was of 200! a couple of yrs ago i didnt pay it then i called a yr on to sort it then they told me it was only 35! it seem that if u get disconected then they sort the problem its stupid.
