Best U.K. TV Service/Supplier?

Why this a cable forum but if you insist i have virgin and freesat from bbc/itv but voted virgin as they are our main supplier.

I voted Freesat, it's the best for me at the moment due to lack of funds.

Did have Sky+ before then but just couldn't afford it anymore, would have kept using it if Sky didn't charge £10 a month just to use the recording, so got Freesat+ HD

For me Sky and VM are equal. Sky has better quality for main tv but VM has Vod so they equal themselves out

Sky did stop charging for + features a good while ago. HD costs a tenner though which is a shame

Iirc if you have freesat from sky and want to record they still charge the £10.

I could say they are all the best at certain things or in certain situations

I voted for Virginmedia as a customer due to me being one for over 16 years through all the name changes and we still have a good service with little to complain about.

Sky is good but VM got my vote. The extra tuner and catch up on demand suit my household more.

I second that, the on demand service is excellent, my only gripe is the epg update which grinds my box down to a halt at midnight every night.

For its innovation and for creating the pay tv market to begin with, it has to be Sky.

They were the first to launch multi channel tv, digital tv, pvr, hd etc. If the old cablecos had sorted themselves out 10 years ago and launched VOD and tivo then, things may have been different today. But they didn't. Sky won the tv wars and are in such a dominant position now, VM will never be able to catch up on them as witnessed by the VMtv sell off to Sky.

I think the broadband wars are still all to play for though and VM are in a very good position in this regard.

I have used Sky HD before at my brother's and the other halfs mums house and I just didn't like the PQ and I am using V+ on a 720p TV and it looks better, VM gets my vote esp with Tivo coming.

I voted for VM but then it would be pretty stupid if I didn't as I have been subscribing to them for several and I'm not under a contract. The reason I am with them is mainly because for me they represent the best value for money. I would have to pay more to get the package I want if I moved to Sky.
