New 50MB Connection, great speed, huge packet loss?
Hello Folks, Ive had my brand new 50meg broadband installed over the weekend, everything seems fine speed wise in the UK, (get 6.6MB a sec from BBC). Downloads from overseas are quite a bit slower though.
Ive just been on www.pingtest.net and ive got a really bad result over and over again.
Is this normal (like the superhub firewall blocking something) or does it point to issues somewhere??
Cheers!!

Re: New 50MB Connection, great speed, huge packet loss?
it looks like it was an option in the router called IP flood detection, turn it off and I get zero packet loss. now the big question is should I leave this enabled in the router or disable it??
Cheers

as a rule of thumb I disable any firewall feature's on a router, unless not using NAT. I especially disable things like food protection and SPI protection. They tend to do more harm than good.
