Most likely you all know this but I thought I would mention it for those that may not know about it.

I frequently watch a recording while it is still in the process of being recorded as I may have not the time to be there when the programme starts. This works out well for me on numerous occasions. The only downfall which is very minor is that you do not see the end time whilst you are watching it.

Just click to watch it when you are ready but remember, the fast forward button may overlap!

Even on my freeview PVR I often set it to record then start watching it 30 minutes in... Great for zooming past the adverts

I do that all the time we wait at least 15 minutes then start to watch the programme and as Kymmy says we can sail through the adverts.

Re: Don't wait for recording to finish to watch it!

Here is another time saving trick.

You want to watch three programs at 8pm. It is now 7:45.

Record two of the programs. Change Live TV to the third channel then watch a recorded program.

When you have finished watching the recorded program, you can return to Live TV and be able to rewind to the start of the third program and watch it.

Re: Don't wait for recording to finish to watch it!

Another good tip for watching films.
Just before the film is about to start, hit the pause button, then go and get all your snacks etc so delay is about 10 mins.
Then while the film is on you can fast forward past the adverts and not ruin the film
