Unhappy Missing files from Windows XP

Hi
I have deleted two files from my C:\Windows\system32 folder.

The two files are:-
cisvc.exe
and
clipsrv.exe

Where can I get two replacements from?

Re: Missing files from Windows XP

You could possibly get them from a friend that you trust, assuming he's running the same patch level of XP as you they should work ok (probably).

Don't go just downloading them from any old web site though - you could find they've had malicious code inserted, or just plain might not be the real deal.

Failing that I think you should be able to just to extract them from the original Windows installation discs, but you'll need to Google for that (or wait further advice from a Windows user) - it's been ages since I really played with Windows.

Re: Missing files from Windows XP

Hi zing
Thanks for those files.
I am using SP3.
When I put those files into my system32 folder it gave me some ear-ache about replacing system files blah blah blah.
But they're in there now.
Everything's hunky dory.

(I deleted them when using a different anti-virus program, got carried away.).
They don't seem to give any errors apart from HiJackThis program showed 023 Service ....(missing file).
Not any more.
