can't change file names (action cannot be completed) (windows 7) recent problem...

can't change file names (action cannot be completed) (windows 7) recent problem...

hi guys...

a recent problem which has occured on my computer is i can't change file names, for example if i download a file and once its complete and i try and change the file name...

"action cannot be completed because the folder is open in another program

i have tried rebooting computer, but i still get error.

i hope you can help

This could be the Thumbnail preview problem. Iv`e not seen to myself so i`m not sure if this will help, it`s worth a shot though.
Go to Organise->Folder and Search options->View->tick the "Allways show icons never thumbnails"->re-boot.

Change back if it doesn`t work. Something is locking the files it could be any number of things!

Another possible solution could be to empty the recycle bin By all accounts it`s a Windows 7 bug (that`s right it`s not perfect )

p.s. It might be a good idea to do a disc clean up and delete the thumbnails cache.
