V+ Box HD Problem
Hi everyone,
Today we got a second V+ box installed in the bedroom, where there's a 26" Sharp Aquos hd tv. Problem is that the tv doesn't seem to want to accept the signal in hd, and only works through scart. The Virgin guy said that he thought that it must be the tv at fault, this was after trying 2 cables, 2 different V+ boxes and mucking around with the settings for ages. What I don't understand though is why the PS3 works perfectly through the same hdmi port!? The virgin guy said that PS3 uses a different type of hd input or something but I didn't really understand that...
It would pose a bit of a problem having the Virgin media through HD as well as the PS3 as the tv only has one hdmi port but I'd quite like to have the option to just chop and change between them rather than be stuck with scart - and with all the new channels coming out soon in HD then it'd be nice to have it there.
Has anyone got any suggestions that I could try? The tv recognises the connection change when I plug in the box via hd as it changes to the extension when I click the test thing on the virgin settings page, and likewise, the virgin tv screen displays 'hd output has been detected' or something similar when I connect it initially, so there is definitely something going on there.
If it helps, the tv is a Sharp LC26SAE, and the V+ box is a new samsung one.
On top of that, this new remote seems to be VERY unresponsive - much prefer the other style of remote for a start and that was before I realised it wouldn't work terribly well.
Thanks a lot,
I really appreciate any help that can be offered.
