Second V+ box - £150 insall - surely they are joking !?

Just called CS and asked about upgrading my VIP package. I have x1 V+ box and 2 standard boxes and just want to swap one of those for a second V+. "That's £150 for installation", she said! Gobsmacked, I ended the call very quickly at that point - before even asking about any subscription charges ! A calming cup of coffee later and a visit to the Sky website suggests to me that Sky wont be any cheaper and I want to keep the Broadband with VM anyway.

So - why the exorbitant charge - what's involved technically?

Anyone managed to have it waived by threatening to leave ?

Any other ideas welcomed.

Cheers John

They told me the same thing so I kindly told them no thanks!

I just kept the original box and had that set up in another room for £5 a month .

May be worth asking them actually if you could split the charge on a monthly basis rather than 1 big lump sum.

If you are a VIP customer, what you have been told is simply WRONG.

To swap one of your existing V boxes for a V+ will be £35 one-off install charge and then an extra £10 per month over what you are currently paying.

Standard VIP is now £89.50 per month. With your additional V box, you should be paying £94.50 and when you swap this for a V+, you should pay £104.50 per month.

It is true for those not on VIP (or XLPlus) that the installation charge for a second V+ is £150.

when i was on the vip pack they told me that i had to pay the full priceif i wanted a second v+ box which is £150, so i simply stick with the one box because theres no way in hell i am paying that price.

As I said above, if you were told that and you are a VIP customer, then you were given the WRONG information.

Just for info... do you know whether this information exists somewhere within the VM website? Useful to cite when calling CS.

Cheers John
