I've just had ADSL / phone with Virgin activated today. I was told I should get around 8mb speeds. I've done a ping test and am getting just below 1mb :o Surely this cant be right? Or do I have to wait for some time before my speed increases?
DSL speeds can wildly fluctuate over the first 7 days whilst they sort out the optimum line speed, but 1Mb does sound a bit low, how far are you away from the exchange??
I can see it from my window :/ Yes you are right however, I thought that might be the case. I remember back in 'the old days' when I first got ADSL installed and 512kb was lightning fast :P
