Death of a newsgroup?

Anyone noticed that A.B.TV has collapsed over the last few weeks with most migrating to A.B.M ??

Anyone know of any reason for the move??

Yep I meant multimedia...

I normally scan the headers int he morning for the last 24 hours as I find I miss stuff otherwise, but this last week I noticed on the searches that a lot of stuff is now on a.b.m and not on a.b.tv

Re: Death of a newsgroup?

BTW, it seems like a new newsgroup has popped up now: a.b.teevee. The TV show I want is cross-posting with a.b.mm and used to be cross-posted with a.b.tv and a.b.mm so it does look like its a replacement.

Maybe anti-piracy groups were targetting a.b.tv...

Re: Death of a newsgroup?

Lots of passworded posts are being made all over the usenet..... this is driving people away from them, though some new ones have appeared where the trolls have yet to appear.

I noticed that, I am quite suspicious of A.b.teevee.

Never had a problem with the passworded posts idiots...

What does worry me is in other groups the amount of virus/trojan EXE posts where a download unrars into more RAR's headed by an EXE file. People then click the EXE file thinking they're unpacking the avi

Punky, thanks for the a.b.teevee info, will check it out
