Adding an additional pop.ntlworld account in Thunderbird

I have recently migrated my OE programme to Thunderbird as I was having major problems sending mail with OE. All seems to be ok with all the settings transferred over except for one thing. I had two email accounts with Virgin/ntl on OE and it worked fine and it was easy to set up. However, I have major problems in setting up the second account on Thunderbird. I get to the point where I have to input my user name and I get an error message saying that that name is being used on another account. I put in another name, but now every time it tried to download mail to the second account, it asks me for a password, and won't accept the password for my default email account. can someone who uses Thunderbird guide me through the process please.

Re: Adding an additional pop.ntlworld account in Thunderbird

I don't have Thunderbird in front of me but
There are 2 names on each account, the actual account name you log in with and a local name used by Thunderbird to separate account settings. This latter needs to be unique so I may use
Tweetiepooh at ISP1 and
Tweetiepooh at ISP2 for the account names in Thunderbird. Each will then have it's own settings including whether to store the password. If you do store the password set a Master Password in Thunderbird to stop others getting in. You will need to enter this each time you start Thunderbird but only once. Also make sure the login stored is correct else it will fail and you will get prompted to enter manually.
