Anyone got Astraweb connection problems?

I've been getting an error connection code '502', i have emailed Astraweb but no response, i'm dissapointed with them so far, as i have come over from Giganews, 2 days and now i have a connection problem i had none with Giganews but they were £20 per month, i have now paid £60 for 12 months and have already lost faith.

Anyone had similar probs or am i a one off, or have i been done?

Re: Anyone got Astraweb connection problems?

What newsreader are you using?

I have been having problems with astraweb, ssl & grabit for the past few weeks.
Alt.binz works fine though.

Just tried it and there is a problem with the .eu server farm I suggest you try using either ssl-us.astraweb.com or ssl.astraweb.com Ports 443 or 563.

EU Authentication Problems Posted By: Alex On: 10 Jul 2009 8:11 AM Details Ongoing

We are currently experiencing authentication errors on our EU farm. Please try using our US farm instead: us.news.astraweb.com

We are working to resolve this situation now. It should be resolved shortly.

Re: Anyone got Astraweb connection problems?

There's a post from Astraweb on the members area News page

they're having authentication issues on the EU farm. They're working on it at the moment and advise using the US farm instead.

I've been with Astraweb for a few months and it's been rock solid.

Re: Anyone got Astraweb connection problems?

Been with them now since late last year.... Had a few instances where the european servers were down but the US servers were always there to back them up.. Well worth the money..

Re: Anyone got Astraweb connection problems?

I used to have connection problems with Grabit and SSL connections. Then recently I tired again with the SSL europe server address and managed to download using Astraweb SSL encryption just fine. No problems what so ever now.

Re: Anyone got Astraweb connection problems?

always having issues with astraweb ssl
i find a quick change to another server kick starts it - have to say so far i rate giganews as the better provider regardless of the extra money
