Missing Drive Space

Hi,
Earlier today I was rendering a pretty small DV file (around 2 mins in length). During encoding the program I was using (Puremotion's Edit Studio) created 'DV Builder files' around 4 to 5 gig in size. After the rendering finished the AVI file produced was around 400mb but I seem to be missing a couple of gigs worth of Hard Drive space. Ive tried Ccleaner, defrag etc, but all to no avail. Ive looked in the program files dir where the prog in question is located and again no luck.

Im running Vista SP1, could it be the drive is giving off a false read out?

What working directory does the program use?

Have you tried restarting?

EDIT: Could also try running scandisk

Ahh it indeed looks to be some sneaky temp files! 3.8 gb of the whotsits! Whats the best method to remove them safely?

Deleting the Temp files located within a hidden DIR seems to have reclaimed the missing space. It turns out the 'temp' files were small AVI clips of the effects I added to the DV file I was working with. Im guessing the program should have deleted the temp files once the finished file was completed, for some reason that didnt happen.

I had already tried deleting the restore points, but will make a point of doing it again now that I have found the problem.
