BBC iPlayer goes High Quality (for Streaming)

Resizable video player and improved video quality - Updated!

High quality 1500kbps streams are now available on BBC iPlayer. Each time you resize the player to the largest size the best quality will be selected automatically. This will remember the video player size when you return to the site. Try playing programmes in full screen to appreciate the difference in picture quality.

What I can't yet work out is what bitrate the download files are done at?

Update: The iPlayer Desktop Player uses the HQ version. Bigger file sizes - around 540Mb for a 50 minute show - but much much better quality

Thank god for that, the quality for Desktop Player was terrible. I'm glad that they've got that sorted.
