Smile Newbie with a quick question

Hi to everyone

I've been reading threads on this forum for what seems like months now, more out of curiosity than anything else as i've never had need to ask anything and i'm quite please with the services i get from Virgin (always room for improvement)

However, i've recently started having a few issues/problems with my lovely V+ box,
It's started randonly rebooting whilst I browse the channel guide and many of my recent recordings are dropping sound or pausing for several seconds during playback...
I shall be give CS a phone call later but wanted to know if anyone else was experiencing similar problems.

Cheers

Re: Newbie with a quick question

You'll probably be advised to try reformating the HD. You'll lose any recordings you do have if you do this so if you've got something you want to keep you may want to try archiving it now.

If you decide to go ahead with the reformat, this is how you do it. You need to do all this using the remote, not the front panel buttons.
1) Press the Home button.
2) Press and hold the Play/Pause button until the display says E-00.
3) Press the V+ or TVDrive button. The display will say E-01.
4) Press the ch- button 4 times. The display will say 'hdd4'.
5) The V+ will then begin the reformat, and the display will say 'rft'. This may take up to 5 minutes. Afterwards the V+ will reboot normally.

If you get in a muddle when pressing the buttons, press RESET, let the box reboot, then try again.
Good luck and hope it solves your problem.
