Help!!! MSI K8N Neo4 Motherboard Bios flash gone wrong.
Help! Just rebuilt my friends pc and used the Live update facility from the MSI website.
I flashed the Bios and the pc now boots to nothing, just a blank screen.
I`ve tried resetting the Bios with the button and changed the battery but still no POST or anything.
Any ideas anyone, Please?
Thanks.

See if it's got a boot block jumper/procedure...the website should tell you.

Re: Help!!! MSI K8N Neo4 Motherboard Bios flash gone wrong.
I once did an update for an intel board on a via board by mistake (left the floopy in the driver ) the ONLY way of recovering it was to boot with a good board that uses the same size bios chip, then hot swap the chips and then reflash. Not really recommended for a beginner but it does work...

Thanks for the help mate.
I`ve been building and repairing pc`s for nearly 12 years now and i used the recommended bios update from the website.
I think the only thing i can do now is get another Mobo from Ebay or somewhere and get the pc sorted that way.
Bloody Autoupdates!!!!!!!!!!! Never had a problem before with them!
Cheers for your help anyway mate.

Never flash a BIOS from Windows - you've just discovered why.

One of the reason as to why I tend to stick to ASUS, the bios flash util is built into the bios and the recovery options are fantastic

Hard to do if the bios is corrupt as it'll never get around to checking the disk, unless the bootblock default is to check the CD

I have an Asus P5B and I'm on the latest BIOS and have followed all BIOS's from 2 years ago all flashed from the Asus update through windows. So it does work, many people use it and have no problems, its best to either do it through safe mode or make sure you shut down all programs that are running in the background especially AV.
