Fix my damn BB VM, I am sick to death of your lies.

So what is it with Virgin? Are they unable? Unwilling? Incapable? Incompetent or just plain old bloody useless? Month after month after damn month goes by and still I have this incredibly poor BB service. When It's good it's absolutely great, when it's poor I can't do a thing with it.

I'm way past the point of TS ever being able to offer any kind of useful information. The TS is really for people at the begging of their problems. I've lost count of the amount of people from VM who have promised me and given me dates for a fix and it just goes but and sod all happens.

It's just plain old utilisation and they have admitted it, so why don't they fix it? If it wasn't for the fact I hate SKY and really don't want to go back to BT I'd be long long gone. I wish VM would either sort it out or close down completely. That way I get a fix or I have to motivate myself to go elsewhere.

Re: Fix my damn BB VM, I am sick to death of your lies.

How abou trying to simple diagnostics first, before you moan? I for one am sick to death of people such as yourself, not doing anything to "help". Othr than moan liek a spoilt child. Do the things below.

At the times you are having issues, do the following

start >> run >> CMD >> ping www.virginmedia.com

Post the results

2nd >> Whilst in cmd >> tracert www.virginmedia.com

Post the results

3rd Visit, in your bowser, http://192.168.100.1. Go to Signal then post both up and down stream.

4th Speed test > www.speedtest.net post the results.

5th: http://gamefiles.virginmedia.com/blueyondergames/ chose two files, download them together, post the results.

6th, are you running any kind of router or are you direct to modem via ethernet.
Run all the above results, with both direct and none direct.

Clearly, these steps will be amost the same as TS ask you. This should give you some amunition to fire at them, when they try and blame it on Syware programs.

Also, if you have a router, repeat webcrawler2050's diagnostics with your computer plugged directly into the modem.

Also, make sure you are not confusing KB/s and Kb/s, as 448KB/s is what you should get from a 4Mb/s line.

(I only say this as you keep quoting KBS)

Re: Fix my damn BB VM, I am sick to death of your lies.

have vm given you any remedy number for the fault?

F000 + another 6 digits, if you have that i can check to see what the updates are on it, i know that not exactly what your wanting, but might help.

also, i have seen occasions, when these problems run for months, and also another one that was still on the status page after over a YEAR.

i think some of the replies to you in this thread have perhaps been a bit harsh considering it has been admitted to being a vm fault, altho i understand what they mean by peope who have a moan, but im guessing when you called up those tests suggested were already done with you. On the other hand though, no harm doing them again next time it goes down to make sure it is still the same issue that is affecting you.

could either be your equip or something else on the vm network.

It is harsh, but its the truth. Most people just moan, without no self diagnostics. This thread is the prefect one.

Also, if are not gettting the speed you are payin for, you can request a credit. 150 >> Option 3 > HOLD

Re: Fix my damn BB VM, I am sick to death of your lies.

when you have done all the testing and posting........and find out your UBR needs an Upgrade.........then the bloody date keeps moving "Subject to Change"......and you have another 7 months to wait.......It's time to move.......save yourself the stress.

I have cancelled every thing...and now advise friends and family to leave too...Virgin has gone crap........I have not rushed doing this, i have given Virgin chances after chances, only to see them fail, time and time again.........They have been for me simply rubbish....

I do hope you can get a result and not go through the ISP hell i have been through, with this company..........If you do find all your troubles are because your UBR needs and upgrade, good luck.....

Not true! If every time an ISP / Provider has a problem, you move, you will be moving around ISP's fo the rest of your life. To suggest a move is just stupid.

I don't know who the hell you think you are talking to dude. BUT I PAY A FEE FOR A SERVICE THAT'S KNACKERED. I am not some wet back that fell off the back of a lorry in Dover. I have been dealing with this for over a year. I have not read passed the first line of your response in order to not get too wound up.

I have had engineer after engineer and equipment installed. I even have a new PC now. Everything is new. The only thing that remains the same is the retention issue. OKAY BUD?

i know, i dont like people who are just on for a moan, but in this case the diags seem to have been done already and be a confirmed vm issue.

and i fully agree with you on changing the isp everytime you ahve a problem, and i wouldn't be recommending to family and friends to move just because of problems iv been having. they may have a perfect service be more than happy where they are, let them form there own opinions.
