messy sky signals

recently i have been getting distorted pixelated sky signals and sometimes the picture freezes up. when i change the channel over it works but only for a small period of time and then it messes up again.

i have tried everything at the back of the sky digibox and everything seems secure.

i think its my dish that has been misalligned.

how can i reallign it without calling out anybody or without having to buy any expensive equipment.

thanks for your help.

If you don't know how then I wouldn't mess with it. Without a signal finder (and even better a spectrum analyser) you have little to no chance. If you do decide to play, then make sure you mark the brackets with tippex or such like so you can easily put the dish back in position.

How long's it been going on? Don't forget that bad weather can affect your Sky signal, and the weather recently's been appalling...

Re: messy sky signals

If your dish was mis-aligned then the signal wouldnt just fade to pixelation it would be there in all but perfect conditions and dependant on the degree of mis-alignment you prob wouldnt get anything without pixelation. Prob LNB, damp\water etc, how long you had the install?
