Multiple Internet Connections?

We Have BT broadband but Its not fast enough in the evenings (It gets traffic shaped to 512kps some evenings) Because there's 3 of us in the house (sometimes 4 when the other person is back from UNI)

We get the Broadband "free" (Bt staff ) and AS there's an VM (ex NTL) catv box on the wall and I know VM can supply cable broadband to this address (Used to know previous occupant who had NTL BB) I'm quite happy to Pay for a VM cable connection which Enables me to keep the existing ADSL but also get bit more bandwidth and a Second external IP (which may help when both 360's are online)

Now Obviously I could run 2 networks and have some devices on one and some on the other but I was wandering if theres a way to go about it so Everything can get access to both connections.

I'd guess I'd need a Dual wan router but how would that work?

Re: Multiple Internet Connections?

it perhaps makes it slighty more complicated as you will have one on a DSL modem and the other on the generic cable BB but this gives an idea.

its just not really a bonding exercise as such,as you need bonding at both ends to do that right, to agrogate as it were, such as you might make in your wired and/or wireless LAN connected machines, to make a faster bonded virtual network device from several real Ethernet cards.

its more a Dual Wan Routing exercise in truth used to increase bandwidth throughput, rather than as a fall over connection , not that im fully up on these things, so any learning curve you get, feel free to add to the thread to increase everyones learning
