Here you can order TV L and BB M for £25 a month, once installed you can call VM and upgrade to TV Xl, which I belive is an extra £9 a month.

Re: Please Help

Once you have it installed and phone up then it should be instant upgrade. All they do is push a button I think lol.

When I phoned up to upgrade my Internet last year it was done withing 10 minutes.

Re: Please Help

I have XL TV.

I am charged for a phone line I neither have nor want and which VM on many occasions have wriggled out of installing by hanging up on me.

VM adamantly refuse to remove the charge for the mythical phone line.

Once they have you locked into a 12 month contract don't say you weren't warned.

You can order seperatley but it is quite expensive to do it this way. Take the 2 for £20 bundle then ring them to upgrade you. Or ring them before to let them know that is what you want. See what they say. This way it should be up and running on the day

Well i poseted on my footie forum and these were the replies about VM...

Virgin Media is absolutely awful, mainly as all they provide is what Sky tell them they are allowed to provide, they play second fiddle to Sky, and you wont always get the channels you want.

Steer WELL clear of it.

I had a salesman at my door the other day who said "Hello im here to interest you in Virgin Media" and i said "Ive got Sky mate" to which he just gave up, turned around and walked away.

Steer as far clear of Virgin Media as you can, its an absolute waste.
Quote:
I personally hated Virgin Media. They kept changing the layout of the screen (the channel thing that comes up!) It seemed really slow to change channel as well. The internet was unreliable and the customer service was poor. That aside, it's really good and I hear that certain packages come with free Setanta Sports for the season!
Quote:
Don't get it, it's ********. No Sky One, Sky Sports News, and it looks horrible too. Black and Yellow.

The internet I'm on is crap, the customer service is **** (oh, we can't fix it, gutted), and if you get wireless, expect to be cut off every 10 minutes and keep having to reset your router.

Quote:
The internet and phone for me is ok. The telly is crap though. A lot of channels always start flickering if you know what i mean. You will often get blank screens. The TV info doesn't work. The interactive screen is very slow.

And as Obscura said, the Sky premium channels have been switched off.

well ntl was taken over by vigin media.. and thats what i have at my dads! and its ok i suppose! **** channels.. internet is ok but phone is ****!

No, personnaly I love my VM service its great.

No flickering, no slow channel change, problems fixed straight away (if any)

Also looks like you are going to get cable anyway. By your signature thing.

Go for it is my advice.

The people that have actually had it seem to have had a bad experience. Correct there is no sky one, sky news or sky sports news but no great loss. BB is reliable for me, telephone is reliable. I have some issues every now and then with tv, but nothing that can't be fixed. The recent update fixed many for me. It seems to me that alot of the posts were from people that have always been with sky, listened to others or even rumours and will not change. I have had Sky and changed to VM. I would never go back to Sky. I enjoy VM services and have no reasons to change. I find that the service with VM is far better then sky. Each to there own i suppose.

I'm sure you will get the help you need. Depending on what area you are in, depends on how long installation date is.

Good luck
