File transfer question MSN

Hi guys - was trying to copy and send a couple of website links to a mate via MSN 2 days ago but on trying to paste the links into MSN I got a warning saying that I'd selected a potentially harmful file and that I needed to set up instant messaging virus checking or something. I have Avast running and have had these sites on my PC for some time so cannot understand this. I had an Avast update a few days back so am wondering if something's changed and I need to alter some settings somewhere. I've since posted some website links on CF with no problem so am thinking it's just restricted to MSN. Can anyone help?

Probably a bug in the MSN software and it thinks you are forwarding something nasty. Some things have always been a bit buggy in messenger to be honest. Have you looked in the options for anything that looks like it is to do with that?
