LCD tv stutter?
hey folks,
I recently got a techwood 37" LCD from ebuyer and while the TV is ok, occasionally the picture stutters. Is this normal for LCD tvs? i dont really want to send it back as for a little over 500 quid, im quite pleased otherwise!
any thoughts?

Re: LCD tv stutter?
Is the stutter on all sources, or maybe just on freeview ? It certainly isn't normal, but it sometimes happens on my freeview, but I need to upgrade my cabling and aerial.

Re: LCD tv stutter?
It isnt broken im afraid , its just a "side-effect" to this tv. I've got the 32" version and it does it on really fast moving things. When i was watching Aliens on Sky Movies the other night i noticed it too. Funnily enough though it has never happened while on my Xbox 360.

Re: LCD tv stutter?
Your TV pauses for half a second on fast moving scenes AND your happy to take that as OK?

Not really but A) I dont have the box to return it and am out of my 28 days return policy and B) I bought mines mainly to use for my 360 as i already have a 32" Bravia in the living room for watching tv.

Re: LCD tv stutter?
But it IS a fault, you cant say to somebody else that it isnt - it just shouldn't do that.

Re: LCD tv stutter?
It ISNT a fault. If you read other forums of readers reviews for this tv, it has something to do with the spec of the tv when changing from one colour to another which in budget sets can be common and isnt present in more expensive tv's. That is of course if the original poster and i are talking about the same thing , which isnt a complete pause, more of a slowdown stutter, similar to when you have a cheap graphics card in a computer and too much action appears onscreen at one time.
If i thought it WAS faulty i would say so.

Re: LCD tv stutter?
I'd still take it back, get a refund and get a different set then.
Not fit for purpose.

Re: LCD tv stutter?
yeah that sounds more like it i would think its a half second pause, probably actually less that that...
I did read an old review of LCD tvs that said it was common....
I dont know if i should keep it or not as 500 for a 37" which is otherwise fine....

Re: LCD tv stutter?
Just 'cos other people suffer from it, doesn't mean you should accept it.
Personally, I'd class it as a fault & start hassling EBuyer for a refund.
28 days return policy is BS & irrelevant when it comes to goods which are faulty / not fit for purpose etc - have a read up on the Sale of Goods Act e.g. HERE.
This is why, especially for something like an HD Ready LCD, you really do get what you pay for. I'd rather have a smaller panel by a decent brand, than get a huge noname one for the same cost.
