Which video senders work with Pace STB?

I have NTL digital TV with a Pace STB in High Wycombe area. I think the STB uses IrDA remote codes.

I would like to relay the cable TV channels to another TV upstairs, using one of the "video sender" gadgets that Argos sell. Some of these seem to explicitly say they are not compatible with cable TV, while others are not specific.

Does anyone know of a video sender that will definitely work with my STB?

http://www.redremote.co.uk/

This gives your more information. Although I don't think it gives specifics for digisenders. It does mention very few of them work with the IRDA standard.

What channel is BBC One on for you out of curiosity?

Re: Which video senders work with Pace STB?

Which model of the PACE STB do you have. Different models will have different needs.

It's the remote control signal that causes the compatibility problems as that uses IRDA to transmit commands to the STB on some of the PACE boxes, whilst some more modern STBs use a more standard IR signal.

The Digisender system details can be found here : http://www.digisender.net/_Europes_N...r_Company.html

You would probably need the Digisender Gold DG400

The NTL part number on the bottom of my STB is DI4001N. BBC1 is on channel 101.
I'll take a look at these links, but if anyone has any info regarding compatibility with this specific STB model, I'd be grateful.

You need the Digisender Gold.

The DI4001N uses IR, not IrDA, so any video sender should work ok.

Re: Which video senders work with Pace STB?

Are you sure the DI4001N uses normal IR? I was unable to get a learning remote control to learn its codes, which made me think it was probably IrDA...

Re: Which video senders work with Pace STB?

So, we have now established that the PACE Di4001N does not use IRDA.
I've just got a new lcd tv for the bedroom.

Can I confidently buy any (ie. a cheap) videosender and expect it work fully with my ntl digital?

Thanks for the help.
