Google key words

Ok, I'm new to creating a website. Can anyone tell me how I go about creating key words in my website that appear in Google and such like?

Re: Google key words

You can use the meta tag, eg for this page the meta tag is :

Quote:
<meta name="keywords" content="forum,discussion,support,cable,broadband, digital,tv,telewest,blueyonder,ntl,nthellworld,ntl hell" />

Re: Google key words

Google looks more at the text on the website rather than metatags, so words not pictures and alt tags on pictures.

You can get google adwords which mean that an advert will appear if a googler types those words into their search.

Re: Google key words

Hi.

Google does rely on text on the page and not so much keywords.
A good idea is to layout your text as you would in Word or whatever you use, paying attention to paragraph headings using the <h1></h1> <h2></2> tags and so on.

Tip, put the title of your page in H1 tags at the very top and Google will treat them as keywords.

Use a style sheet setting so that the H1 text is not huge on your page. Google likes H1 tags.
