Unhappy signal ratio and power signal

Hi

New to these forums, so please be gentle!

I have been having various issues with my upload and downloads speeds, and have tried changing the upload channels in accordance with previous posts using the configuration manager.

looking at the download side of things the downstream signal to noise ratio is a constant 40db, no matter how many times I refresh.
the power level is a steady 6 db. do these sound right??

Im in the Bradford area and ive found the best upload channel to be 6 which has a powel level of 43 dBmV.

using Dan E's speed test my download speeds vary from 130Kb through to 200Kb - im on the 2mb service.

any help as to whether these settings sound right, or help to correct them would be appreciated!

cheers
Dunk

Re: signal ratio and power signal

hi and to the site , only telewest would be able to alter the power levels , when you say your download speed varies , do you get a lower speed at busy times , i.e. early evening , if you do then it looks to me as though it is because of the number of ppl local to you that are using the internet , btw , i hope you enjoy your stay here
