Thumbs down Yes, No, Yes, No.

Getting a friend on BB, the story so far...

Check postcode online for availability - Yes, it's available in your area.

Phone for installation and get told - No, it's not available in your area.

Decide to reconnect BT phoneline and go ADSL but there's a few months waiting time.
Phone NTL again and ask if/when BB will be available and get told - Yes, it's available in your area.

Arrange installation for Sat 2nd Apr, get a card dropped through the door Fri 1st Apr saying they need a 'service point' first.
This is arranged for the following week with BB installation on Sat 9th Apr.
Some work occurs outside on Tues 5th Apr and then Saturday comes, and then goes - no-one turned up.

Friend phones this morning only to be told - No, it's not available in your area.

What the hell!

Re: Yes, No, Yes, No.

I have done a check on my parents availability from the web, and it states its available. Now I know they live in the sticks in the middle of no ware and it is not. All they are doing is trying throw as much poo on the wall and seeing what will stick

The postcode checker is only a rough guide.

Not necessarily so.

Not every house in a postcode is necessarily connected, a cable installation may only go part way down a street.

The post code checker has the facility to include house names or numbers, for that postcode.
