modem problem? (possibly)

Ok, well i have Telewest Broadband.
Now and again i have this problem, where the 'cable' and 'status' light goes out on my modem, (the other two lights work.) and then the internet doesnt work.
So i have to unplug my modem from the power, plug it back in, Wait two minutes and it works fine. But it is kind of annoying when, in the middle of a download it cuts out, and have to redownload.
So i wondering if anybody knows the problem/a solution.

Thanks, Fudge

when it goes off, go to 192.168.100.1 in your browser, click on signal, and make a note of the downstream frequency/power level/SNR, and the upstream frequency/power level/channel ID
this'll make it a lot quicker for when you phone us up for support :P

Re: modem problem? (possibly)

I think it's a manufacturer-specific thing, the motorolla and scientific atlanta modems both use that IP address for their config pages, and by the sound of it whatever modem(s) NTL use also do the same
