My Pace STB front display read 8888 on the front digtital display and the engineer is coming out Thursday to potentialy change the box with a new one dont know what kind.
The question is do i have to register the new set STB and the laptop plus the other PC on the wireless network?.
Do i have to do anything with my wireless router also.

Re: New STB Change

You'd need to re-register the wireless router to the STB (through the provisioning page). Everything else should work fine once you've completed the process with the router

Re: New STB Change

hiya to Cable Forum, bomber14

if i was you I would forget about anything network related connected to the stb, except the tv & the primary broadband - unplug everything else, before the installer comes.

get the box installed & the hit done for your service tiers on the basic services, first - then you can set up routers, etc. - just my opinion, though

Re: New STB Change

You'll go through the provisioning screen when you first connect a pc to the STB. once everything is running, connect your router, and reboot the STB. On one of your computers type www.x.com (or whatever you want really). This will bring the provisioning screen up. Enter your PID and password, follow the instructions. Switch off the router, then back on again, reboot pc's.....and everything should be running.

Re: New STB Change

One thing that caught me out with my recent STB change was the password. You need the original PID No: from your 'welcome to Ntl letter', but it is not always the password in that letter, nor is it the password you may have changed it to yourself for e-mail etc. It is the password you use for your account when phoning Ntl or contacting them in any way about your account.

I got locked out on the provisioning page because I tried the other alternatives first, It was a long time since I last registered a PC on the network
