Videoway Remote Control

Don't laugh! I'm still on analogue TV ('cos refusing to move onto digital is the ONLY lever I've got over NTL to get them to provide Broadband in my area - pathetic I know )

Anyway, I've managed to melt my Videoway box remote control (don't ask how!), so does anyone know if either:
1) the original Videoway remote is available anywhere? (I rang customer services and they said "no", but I got one of those answers where you feel they didn't REALLY know at all) or
2) Does it use codes that any of the "universal" remote controls use? or
3) I used to have a replacement TV remote with a "learn" mode where you transfer the codes from the original by pointing the IR ports at eachother. Do any of the modern universal remotes still have this? (I reckon I can get the old one going for long enough to teach a new one)

Many thanks if anyone can help.

Re: Videoway Remote Control

Thanks, I'll keep my eyes open. None of those look like mine (did!), more like my old Gerold(?) box,but maybe something For Videoway will come up soon.
Been looking at a one-for-all 4 signature edition too. That SAYS it will do all cable boxes, but £25 to find out.

Re: Videoway Remote Control

Just had a look in my One For All 6 manual and it lists a code for the Videoway cable box (0250), which incidentally is the same code as for the Videotron cable box.
