Inconsistent email account problem
Is what I am about to describe a common problem? In our family we have 6 NTL email accounts, and for a week now one of them (my wife's) has refused to accept her password. The other accounts are all okay.
The password is saved in a keychain, so I am sure it is okay. Anyways, to run a test I changed her password, and to do so I had to type in the password we believe works for her account. And the NTL web system accepted the old password and reset her password to the new one, which suggests that the old password was still recognised (I tried repeating this with a jibberish password, and it knew that this is not the real password). But still it says that the account password doesn't work (when using the new password).
So, I believe the fault is not with us but with NTL randomly rejecting my wife's password. Does anyone else see a similar problem, and have any advice? We could merely create a new account, but that is not a nice solution (since people have her existing email address).
