MS Front Page

Anyone still use it apart from me?

And can one mix php and html? This is what caused me to screw my site up. Trying to put a phpbb into a front page frame. It didn`t work.

Any thoughts would be good....

Re: MS Front Page

I use Dreamweaver MX in work, PHPEdit at home - neither of these screw up your code.

Re: MS Front Page

I only ever use notepad/dreamweaver, currently looking for a decent php coder for striaght coding sessions...

my advice keep well away from frontpage, haven't used it since dreamweaver and homeepage arrived on the market.. its an ugly non standard peice of software, and has a habit if destroying code..

Re: MS Front Page

Unfortunately we have to use FrontPage at work (it's the only web editing tool that the "Fun Police", or Sys Admins as they prefer to be known, will allow us to install) - apparently "it's a Microsoft product therefore we know that we can trust it, if you started installing any old developer's products then how would we know the network was secure" <sigh>.

Re: MS Front Page

I use FP 2002 for the web sites I do and yes I use frames as itâ₠¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚¢s the only way I can keep the menu on view at all times for easy navigation of the site.

A friend works as a Sys Admin and after years of banging on the "Microsoft sucks" drum and fixing security flaws was astonished when a memo from "On High" suddenly appeared a few days ago saying that the only net software that would be installed on new work PCs would be <drumroll>

Firefox and Thunderbird!!

Suddenly about 90% of his work sorting out PCs with viruses, spyware, trojans and so on is about to vanish.

Trouble is, he's now a little worried they might try to downsize him because he's not needed any more...!
