centrica feedback concerning NTL
Hi, I would like to start this is not made up by me and if wrong or right would appreciate no personal abuse.
I spoke to my sister asking about the NTL situation with centrica, and she says she is 100% sure since its on her intranet at work, centrica also recently brought AA and goldfish companies both of them done in private. I asked her about NTL as it is a shareholder company and she said its possible they just brought shares and became a major shareholder but they defenitly do own at least part of it, future changes include a NTL name change expected within 6 months and will defenitly happen within a year. Centrica have already pumped in over 200 million into NTL as well. Me and my sister think either normal NTL staff havent been told or they have been told but told to not disclose anything to the public.
Take it or leave it.

Well that is complete and utter toss, take it or leave it.
It would have been talked about in the press or on the stock websites but nothing.
My bet still stands as far as centica [british gas] goes for 6 months.
I will show my butt in the trafford centre if it turns out centrica own enough of ntl to.
1 Change the name
2 Have any say in the way ntl are run .
I will now leave it and wait to see if i have a cold butt in the next 6 months

Re: centrica feedback concerning NTL
I know someone who works at NTL in the R and D department - this whole Centrica deal depends on whether the companies can fit together so they're working on GAS powered cable modems. There are at least a dozen Centrica employees there right now working with NTL.
At the moment they're having serious problems with the trial due to fluctuations in broadband speeds where customers have living flame gas fires which draw too much supply away from the modem. I have it on authority that if these problems arent sorted soon then the Centrica deal is dead in the water. If everything goes to plan though, there will be a national role out of GPB (gas powered broadband) even in non cable areas meaning direct competition with BT nationally.

Re: centrica feedback concerning NTL
Centrica do have a relationship with McQuairy (sp?) who are involved in the purchase of Broadcast. Or it could be that NTL is an acronym for oNeTeL.

May be that's the connection - McQuairy (sp?) Comms is the company that's bought the Broadcast division....

Centrica In fact recently sold the AA and we did away with goldfish ages ago.
Centrica has not pumped in over 2 million into NTL ether.
Your sister is compleatly wrong.

The problem has been they did not get a CORGI registered NTL engineer to fit the modem. If two of the six 15mm elbows were removed the modem would have 20mb WP and would work within its designed spec. QED
