NTL Blocking email?

Could ntl possibly be blocking mail or its spam filter not working properly?

Signed up on lokitorrent over a few days to different ntl accounts, resend validation mail etc. First time i try for my own account, it works straight off.

Any ideas??

Re: NTL Blocking email?

Sorry, I didn't fully understand what you did.

Are you saying email sent from lokitorrent to any of your ntl accounts fails to turn up?

If so, it is probably being blocked by NTL's spam filter. They use the SORBS blacklist, which means that you cannot receive any emails originating from computers that have been noted by the SORBS administrators as having sent spam in the past.

Unfortunately you can't complain to SORBS about this, because SORBS release their blacklists on the clear understanding that those who make use of them use their own judgement in deciding whether they are a desirable way of stopping spam. SORBS say they do not publish their lists specifically for the purpose of blocking email.

Complain to NTL. Have the bounce messages handy. Don't accept their BS about the blocked emails containing viruses. Ask about SORBS. Ask them to stop using SORBS and other real-time black lists (RBLs).

See my home page if you want more information.

Re: NTL Blocking email?

Thanks for that. Checking your homepage now.

Signed up three accounts to three different ntl email addresses,
signed up two to other addresses in succession. Nothing in the ntl, both of the non-ntl accounts got it instantly. Sent email from various accounts to ntl, arrived instantly. I think we know how we can conclude

(edit) Just checked SORBS database from where the received messages originated, 72.21.38.146 - not in the SORBS db.
