Merry Christmas everbody.

I was wondering if these DigiSender X2 would work on NTL. Here is a link to it www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=1001&productId=59150&Trail=C$cip=8280> C$cip=8281>C$cip=8293&categoryId=8293

Re: DigiSender X2.

There is a problem with most videosenders (Digisender is the brand name of one particular manufacturer). The set-top-boxes used for cable TV use a peculiar infra-red format that is not commonly supported by these devices. However, there is a new one that is compatible - it's called a Digisender Gold x4. Details available here:

Re: DigiSender X2.

Any video sender will work perfectly well with any NTL box. It's remote senders which have a problem.

Even then, it's by no means all boxes. Any Langley boxes are fine (4001 and 4010), as will be the new Samsung boxes. It's Pace boxes in Bromley regions which are a problem, specifically the 1000/1000b and 2000. The black remote supplied with 4000 boxes won't work, but this box is able to accept regular IR signals if you can find a remote which will give it the right instructions (look for a blue NTL 'shark' remote on eBay, or see if you can order on direct from NTL for £15).

And even if you have a 1000 or 2000, all is not lost, as Mike Harrison has created a superb adaptor. I can't remember the website (sorry Mike), but he's a member of this site so I'm sure he'll be along in a minute to tell you!

Re: DigiSender X2.

So as I live in the Wirral and am on the Bromley end with a 1000 box does that mean that the digisender gold won't work with my setup? I was thinking of getting one after xmas.

Re: DigiSender X2.

Just to clarify

Can you use the Digisender X2 on the Samsung box with the Samsung remote? And you dont need the Digisender Gold?
