In my opinion, the optimum solution for home is a UDM-Pro, and wired access points about the house. Mesh is just a crap version of using wired access points, albeit much easier to deploy.
A cheaper option is a UDM base as a router, with additional access points if required.
Consumer routers that look like alien spaceships give good coverage in a small area of the house, but multiple radios is really the way forward.
