Who on would need the speaking clock whilst at home these days? TV, Internet, DAB Radio, mobile phone, there are so many places with accurate time these days - even my ancient VCR is tapped into that radio frequency time gizmo.
I remember when they changed the BT voice back in the 80s - there was a bit of an uproar as I recall.
