I rang Virgin and was very soon put through to second line who said they had a box with the same problem. This was gone 8pm on Thursday evening.
Today my TiVo was replaced by a nice new V6 box.
I am disappointed they didn’t come out on Thursday evening....

Actually I’m very impressed with their service.

I just wish I could upgrade to the VIP package on the same terms as a new customer, but it doesn’t even come up as an upgrade for me.

Overall I’m very happy with Virgin.
You won't get the same deal as a new customer. The business model all providers work too is slanted toward people constantly switching providers, as it puts a feather in OFCOM's cap by making it look as if competition in the market is working. You may get a loyalty discount if you have been a long term customer, but these only last for a fixed period.
