Great job yes, fantastic amount of money, but deserving of a knighthood, I dont really think so.
Physically 'all he did' was walk around his garden.

Mentally/spiritually. At a time when many people are suffering and/or struggling with the current situation he gave them something to smile about, be happy about and be proud about.

He showed people the world over how one 'ordinary' person can make such a significant difference to the lives of others.
