Seven episodes into Game of Silence‘s freshman run, NBC has opted not to pick up the drama series for a second season. The dark thriller, based on a Turkish format and in the vein of the movie Sleepers, has been steady but low-rated, logging a 0,7 adults 18-49 Live+same day rating for the past five airings. The series was a co-production between Sony TV and Universal TV.

Faking It will be no more. MTV has opted to end the scripted comedy series at the conclusion of the current third season, with the May 17 finale to serve as the series ender.

CBS has given series orders to dramas Training Day, a sequel to the movie; the Dr. Phil-inspired Bull, starring NCIS‘ Michael Weatherly, Jason Katims’ Pure Genius (fka Bunker Hill) and MacGyver, a reboot of the classic series. On the comedy side, the network has picked up the Matt LeBlanc starrer, now titled Man with a Plan and workplace half-hour The Great Indoors starring Joel McHale. Both are multi-camera as is the newly picked up Kevin James comedy Kevin Can Wait, meaning that renewed Life In Pieces will be the only single-camera comedy series on CBS next season.

ABC has picked up hot family comedy pilot Speechless to series. Additionally, the network has renewed veteran multi-camera sitcom Last Man Standing for Season 6. Both projects hail from 20th Century Fox TV.

ABC has given series orders to drama Notorious and comedy Imaginary Mary. Both are co-productions between Sony TV and ABC Studios. Notorious, from Josh Berman and The Firm, had been an early standout at the network, while Imaginary Mary, from The Goldbergs team of Adam F. Goldberg, David Guarascio and Happy Madison, had received high marks for its seamless blending of live-action and CGI animation. The pickup gives The Goldbergs creator Goldberg, Happy Madison and Sony TV two comedy series on ABC.
