As the vote hasn't taken place yet, how could it be treated as a statement of fact? Just as if I said it was going to be sunny tomorrow, that can't be a statement of fact that has to be proved or disproved.
So the tweet says something bad will definitely happen without any evidence and previous circumstances suggest it will not. It's absolutely correct to challenge this.

If someone tweeted today that There is NO WAY (ZERO!) that tomorrow in Birmingham the weather will be anything less than a hurricane - I would definitely challenge this as well.
