Cleverman

Apart from Dr Who I think this has got to be one of the worst pilots I have ever watched. I can see it being cancelled asap like Of Kings and Prophets because it is so niche. It is quirky and unique in that it deals with the cultural heritage of the Australia but the only people I can see that appealing to is the Australian's for sheer novelty. I watched the whole thing even though I wanted to turn it off and just thought it was hollow and didn't really setup what the crux of the story was and a substantial theme of the series.

What I have got so far is that hairy people who have powers live under quarantine and want to get out and one person is the "Cleverman" and has a special connection to the spirit world. I don't know how to explain it other than it feels empty and lacks substance. I think the best way to explain it is that I don't understand the point of it or where it is going. Atm I feel better watching Homes Under the Hammer or Escape to the Country; they setup what is going to happen for you, you get a sense of expectation and they close it for you
