The Times is reporting "BBC licence fee will be frozen for two years".

Nadine Dorries, the culture secretary, intends to keep the fee flat at £159 for a colour licence until April 2024, which will mean a severe real-terms cut to the BBC’s funding. More to be unveil this week.

The government is minded to abolish the licence fee in 2027.
