You must be kidding.

Way too much effort just to save a few £ on somthing that lasts for ages anyway.

Also, you do realise you are over powering the remaining LEDs by cutting out one like that (given they are in series).
The others will then have a shorter life (and likely run a little hotter/brighter before they burn out).
