I admit in taking an interest in this because of my neighbour is about to go through the same thing (or a lot worse as far I'm concerned). I can only offer so much advice but from what I've seen it down to the individual circumstances so there's no real right or wrong answer which is why I'm struggling on this subject.

On moneysaving expert it says it can cost upto 7.5k to go the IVA route which I can't believe, it sounds totally wrong to me unless it's a business type of arrangement. Where as bankcuptcy would be cheaper. I'm finding it hard to get a balanced view of the benefits of either ways.
