ITV bosses recently had a "curious meeting" with the shows creators to discuss how best to represent black characters, in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement.
But Roger is not having any of the criticism that its past portrayals of figures such as Kanye West or Beyoncé were offensive.
Instead he accused his critics of contriving controversy.
“People sit around looking for things to complain about, and I do big noses and big ears. It’s personal – it’s not a racist thing," he told Radio Times in this week's magazine.

The whole objective of a caricature is the emphasis of certain physical features including the ethnic ones.
