Until the financial aspects are leveled out, most clubs will simply be making up the numbers with mid table mediocrity or fighting off relegation. Both of these scenarios are still rewarded with decent 'winnings' at the end of the season though . . which is a dream come true for those dodgy owners out there

Sometimes a club will get lucky by having the right manager with the right tactics for the right players, but that often needs an owner (and fans) with patience and a lucky streak

The merry go round of failed managers doesn't help either
I sort of agree with you. Getting the right manager is vital of course but just as much is getting the right players in is also vital. I don't believe you have to spend 50 _80 million pounds to be a top 4 club just make the right signings plus have a very good youth policy. Far too many clubs spend millions on foreign players in the belief they're better than the British players which isn't always the case. I'm not anti foreign players by any means. I just feel far too often clubs buy them because they think fans want them. I hope Newcastle get it right sooner rather than later because once fans are allowed back into grounds there's not many grounds can rock like St James Park . And I say this as a Boro fan!
