Spam Buster compares the email message, header information, sender, and size to the spam settings you've defined to see if the message is spam. Then Spam Buster even checks the sender against a blacklist of known spammers.
Spam Buster displays the email with a red checkmark indicating they are spam, a question mark if the mail appears to be spam, and those on the exception list (such as your friends) with a special icon. Should you decide that some of the messages not marked with a red check mark are spam, you can flag them for future spam detection. Of course you can unmark any message marked as spam too. Then launch your email program to retrieve and read the "clean" email.
