Just a point of interest regarding the section 75 protection.

You only need to have used the credit card to settle part of the payment, though you do need to pay over £100 in total for a single item to evoke the cover. For example, you could pay £20 deposit using your credit card and then pay the balance by another method and still have the whole £100 plus covered by section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.
