I dispute that, Andrew. The Guvmin's over-riding duty is to protect us. In this case they've acted quickly, which I think is a necessary step.

We didn't know what the Covid cost would be and the Guvmin really didn't act as quickly as hindsight suggested it should have done.

I don't see the relevance of introducing Thatcher into this other than to cause mischief.
